Its been years since I used this website. I have three chickens now with 10 more on the way. We have the hens for egg production. One of my hens (approx 1 yr old) is walking funny, stumbling, loose stool (this morning when I picked her up) and her comb is pale... I am trying the epsom salt bath soak to see if it is egg bound. Any other help will be appreciated.

Welcome back. Sorry about your hen. Can you take a video of her and upload it to the gallery or YouTube?

We can upload videos toBYC. Here's how:

You can give her a human calcium citrate tablet with vitamin d3 or a Tums orally if you think she may be egg bound. Is she passing any more droppings? Usually an egg bound hen cannot pass droppings. Could she have been injured? Examine her legs for swelling, redness, or green bruising. Do you have a rooster? Are both legs not working well or just one? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease?

Thanks for the reply. She did not get injured. They are all fenced in and cooped at night. No rooster. Her legs do not appear swollen but the are slightly darker (orange) than her twin sister. She is foraging now but, still has some balance issues and she is not scratching like her sisters.
