Returning to the Roost

This is for future reference.
Will all layers return to the Roost at night time or do you sometimes have to prompt them? The reason I ask is I plan to put a door in so it will close at or after dark.

I am about ready to start my coop so I am planning to make as many upgrades as I go along.

Once they learn where to go they'll go in on their own. You may have to get them in there for the first several weeks when they're young, but after that they'll go on their own. I'd love to have an automatic coop door! Great idea!

Thanks Simz. I thought they would grow accustomed to their surroundings. I am going to try to make this work.
