We hadn't had chickens in about 15 years. The house was in my field, complete with run.
We moved it this weekend, and today got it level and added a pen.

Right now the house is 5' x 8', and the run is 10' x 16'. The 12 hens and 2 roosters seem thrilled!
We are going to add an easy fill waterer similar to what I use in my pigeon lofts, and add doors to collect eggs from the outside so my oldest can collect the eggs.

We will add a coat of paint, but the building has held up amazingly well. The sides are made of concrete forming plywood, which are treated with something.

We will be adding more more hens, but don't want to overload the pen and house.
Birds will get a couple hours to free range in the afternoon, but only when someone is home.
We will be adding a self closing door soon as well, but my dog doesn't allow other critters in the yard.
The birds have been in the pen with just a dog house for 2 weeks and are flourishing!

Nest boxes are solid (basically a nest tray, runs the length of the house).
Birds laid eggs in it the first day. :)
We are going to add a screened window in the front, with hardware cloth, so I can see in without opening the door.
