Reversing a feather plucker?

I also put axle grease on her tail feathers where I noticed some down like feathers showing through. I watched my buff orpington try to peck her, but quickly stopped. She is the same Buff Orpington that pecks my bantam cochin on the top of the head if she stands to close to her when she is eating. She is a bully. She might have to spend time in the old rabbit hutch if she doesn't stop it.

Try removing the bully hen for a week or so. Reintroduce her-expect some conflicts, but hopefully her position in the pecking order will have been lowered. You could always rehome the bullied hen, but the bully might just pick another target.

I had a BO who was feather picker and she was cured not by me but by an EE mix rooster that one of the other BO hens had hatched out. After the rooster grew out he put her in her place and the feather picking stopped. I have since rehomed the rooster and she has not returned to feather picking.
