I have found a breeder of pet quality mini rex rabbits, she is offering her current litter at $10.00 each, she has 3 bucks and 1 doe. I am leaning more towards a buck due to personality, even though their urine is stronger.

Do any of you all have any of the mini Rex bunnies? If so give me some personality tips, pix etc...

Here is in the only picture that I have seen, its the one from the ad.

I like does much better. They are more willing to cuddle with you.

My DD's mini rex likes to sit in your lap and if you hold still she will start licking on you, hands, face, neck, arms anywhere she can get her tongue.
Only thing she ever bit was my ring. I think she was just curious.

I had a rex buck some years ago. I went to open the hutch, and he attacked me. I still have the scar. I'm sure your bunny will be really sweet, as you are getting him as a baby. Enjoy your little fuzzy! Oh, we learned in 4-H not to scruff a rex, as you will damage his fur. You should gently hold his ears, and scoop him up by the behind.

I used to raise them & sell them. My 2 favs were my first doe "Bun-Bun" and my first buck "Rex". He was kind of old when I got him but very sweet. I loved them both dearly. They were both equally sweet. I recommend either sex. I had many beautiful colors, wish I still had the pics/website.

We have owned two mini rex rabbits and they were both does. No personality problems. They were both very friendly. The one we have now has only growled at my husband after he zip tied her litterbox to the cage

She kept flipping it over.

The only issue I have is with my daughter because it's her rabbit and for some reason my husband and I end up feeding her and cleaning the cage. So she may be going up for sale if this doesn't change.

I have no experience with bucks, sorry. But I have heard if you don't get them fixed then they will spray...something to consider.

I love Mini Rex! Of the many, many of them that I have owned over the years, I haven't had a mean one yet (not saying that it doesn't happen, I just haven't had one - yet!) Most of mine have been fall-into-your-arms friendly, of both genders.

The one problem I have had with MR's is their claws. They seem to be a bit straighter than those of most other breeds, and they are certainly sharper! It's nothing that can't be dealt with by a pair of claw clippers, of course, but you will need to use them a bit more often than on other kinds of rabbits.

Well the one that I picked out from photos that she sent me is sorta tortie marked I guess. I am SUPPOSED to be meeting her Friday morning to pick him up! He was being kept inside with his litter mates but she just this week moved them outside to a outdoor cage. He will be inside here for a while until we can build a nice outdoor hutch(for spring, summer and fall), and then inside in winter!

I am now trying to think of a name for him, if anyone has photos that they want to share or have a clue on what color he might be please share!!!

i raise and breed mini rex and other breeds, i have in rex now- opal, choc, broken blacks, torts, lynx, black, tri-color. i have had other colors also in the past but after a show last year lost most of my heard and had to start over again this year with only a few from my origional herd. so most of my new stock is 8 weeks old to 5 mths old now and i don't have pics of the newbies yet but can try to get some pics of them for ya if this rain would ever stop.

he looks harlaquine to me due to his brindle look. i agree i love my boys as much as my girls both r as equally loveing for us, never had any probs except yep cut those nails my rex r the worse for nails, lol.

I used to breed Flemish Giants YEARS ago (close to 20 now) and I always prefered my bucks to does.

OK folks refresh my memory here, as its been a while since we had a baby rabbit.

Which food do you all feed that can be purchased at TSC? Also its alfalfa hay for babies, then timothy right? if so what age do I switch?

We are going to have him indoors in a guinea pig/mini rabbit cage for a little while until the outdoor hutch is built, and I hope to build him a C&C cage for the winter!!!

Come on, bombard me with hints and tips PLEASE lol
