got this little gal at an auction for a buck. She has some feathers on her legs, a small patch of crest feathers, more friendly than some other breeds. her sister is white/red with no leg feathers but similar pseudo-crest. i asked what breed it was and he said "oh some guy left this weird looking rooster here last month and i stuck him in with some rhode islands" "oh, that helps a lot....." anyone?

She almost has the look of Brabanter about her, but that doesn't account for the feather legs. There's something else in her too. I like her, she's real cute.

At first I was going to say the Roo had been Polish with maybe Faverolle but the more I look at her, I don't think so. Not enough top knot or leg feathers.

4 toes or 5? Full size or banty size? No matter what she is she's pretty and at a great price at that and she'll lay a brown egg.

sorry - should've specified - not bantam, full size breed - 4 toes. i never looked too into silkies, didnt know they were a bantam breed.. and their feet are pretty wild. i dunno... i dont think it'd be possible to breed a bantam with a full size... but what do i know.. maybe the roo daddy was a mongrel himself... brahma and polish or somethin... i wish i had more info for yeh's
