Rhode Island? Hen or Rooster?

I think the rir is a pullet. The black bird in the front is definitely a cockerel. The one in the back a pullet. This is a pic of my rir rooster at about the same age

This explains their size compared to our other breeds! I can’t wait to see what the pullet lays
I sure will! Fingers crossed the RIR is a hen! If they lay as early as 18 weeks hopefully I’ll know for sure within the next month

Thank you for posting your picture...this is a great comparison! Unfortunately, we lost our other RIR as a chick so I don’t have another one to compare it too

Here are some additional pics I took earlier of my RIR...she does have a silky look to her/him in some places which I question. It was a miserable humid afternoon
