Well, we got our girls from Tractor Supply's "sexed egg layer" tub, so we have mystery breeds!

One of my pretty Plymouth Rock hens is saying hello there, I'm pretty sure some of them are that breed, but I'm curious about the other girls. I thought that they were Rhode Island Reds when they were younger, but the lacing on their neck and the white tail feathers don't seem to be characteristic of the breed.

Any opinions?

Hope this will help....just purchased some new girls that look just like your sweeties. Was told that they are a cross between rhode island reds and white rocks. the females are red, the males white. also was told they are a popular mix with the amish folks which is where my girls came from. good luck!

We are in the northeast. we also have a TS near us and they distribute as well

Best.. Valschicks

Those are red sex links. Basically, you put a red rooster over a silver hen and the boys hatch out silver, the girls hatch out gold. The chicks can then be sexed at hatch by color, thus the term "sex-link".Pretty easy to tell you have all pullets! They're prolific layers of large brown eggs, usually nice laid back birds.

the most likely are a laying hybrid, we also got our laying birds form TSC and they are Black sex-links. which is a egg laying hybrid of a Barred rock hen and a Road island red cock.
those are red sex-links, they are a cross between a Road island red cock and a white rock. they are basically road island reds but with a little white rock in them that gives them the white hackles and tail feathers

hope this helps

They look like mine. I was told they are golden buff chickens.
I have found out that Golden buff, Gold comets and red-sex link are the same, just different names.
