hello, just got home from getting some rhode island reds from a local farm. They called them pullets, and they're a very reputable farm. Just making sure this one in the front is indeed a hen. Seems like she has a taller comb than the other two, and I'm thinking her hackle feathers look a little pointy. She's also a little more vocal and slightly protective of the other hens. Thanks !
 
Ah so was the farm deceptive in their description? I guess there's probably a guide that explains the difference between the two breeds somewhere, I'll have to do some more digging. Thanks for the clarification

Red Sex-links are a hybrid layer, not a breed.

Rhode Island Reds are Solid red with black in the tail.

Red Sex-links most of time will have white somewhere in their plumage. Males are white with red shoulder patches.
