We have had our four chicks for about six weeks and we are concerned that our sweet Providence may actually be a Stew. She is a lot bigger than the other chicks and my husband thinks her waddle is to big. Any ideas? Thanks :)

RIR's usually mature earlier, so its normal for the hens to have redder combs too, but it may be too early to tell. Right now it looks like a hen, but give it a few weeks and it might start looking like a rooster

I've raised dozens of Rhode Island Reds..... Sorry, but he's a "Stew." :(

A pullet wouldn't get a comb and wattles like that until she was getting ready to lay, around 4 months old.
