As a chicken newbie, I just started out with 6 chicks. I have these two RIRs and they are both nearly 12 weeks. A is actually a bit smaller than B. Their combs are very similar, but the tails have me wondering. Pullet or cockerel? Thoughts?

That upright tail for A is making me lean cockerel, but for now, at 12 weeks with no red combs, I’m saying they are both pullets. Here is my RIR Pullet at about 12 weeks:

Tail feathers are a good indicator also people on this and most American breeds, the hens points more towards the back with slight rise while you'll get a big arc and longer on the males that gets more noticeable as they grow
