Rhode Island Red hen or roo?

I'm aware a few males might still pop up in a sexed batch, but trying to rehome 10 has been impossible. I also realized if someone wants a rooster, they want a rooster, not a cockerel.
That’s interesting! Yeah im in the city and its even harder to rehome them here. It’s legal to have 1 but most people don’t even own chickens. If they do want roosters around here there’s a risk they may be for cockfights or kept in cages. It’s real hard, I almost want to learn how to process them for meat myself to avoid this.

I have a friend coming to teach me how to do it this weekend and I'm not looking forward to it.

When I had to get rid of cockerels in the city I put them up for free in the classifieds. I’m sure they were eaten but I was in no place to process them myself

They've been listed since they were about 6 weeks and I knew for sure how many males I have. There's a couple I won't miss because they peck me every chance they get. The rest have been great so far and it sucks that I just don't have the space to set up a bachelor group for them.
