rhode island red or barred rocks??

Hello, we have RIR now and for the next batch I was thinking of trying some barred rocks too. How do they compare with personality and egg production with the RIR?
If we did this,are they compatible with one another?

They're both good breeds. The RIR may be a better layer, but the barred may have a better temperment.

My Barred Rocks lay on par with the RIRs. I have both hatchery stock and breeder stock. The BRs have more personality, but the RIRs are sweet ladies.
