Rhode Island Red Roo--Bert--with hot swollen ankle..PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 8mo old Rhode Island Roo we call Bert who has had a swollen ankle for like 2-3 wks now.. It feels really hot. I tred to drain it but all I could see was blood..He walks on it ok and I dont see any sign of bumblefoot. Any suggestions please??
