Rhode Island Red Thread!

She/he is about seven months old...I did have 3 RR that hatched at the same time they were all boys and the last one went it chicken heaven about three weeks ago. This one never got the dark feathers one the wings. Just abit worried about the odd tail feather or two which is a little dark

I enjoy the breed.I have a hen that looks EXACTLY to 1,but she was in the PR tub at the store. Also were a few cinnamon queens.Of course they never know which is which.(Btw these were 2 springs ago chicks.)Black tail,a few black wing feathers,a few balck specks.

I found a chick under my jeep in August. Turned out to be a RIR rooster. Now the entire family has gone chicken crazy.

the caption at the bottom says "Foghorn- it's all his fault". I can tell by the look in his eye that he's going to turn into a little **** soon. So I handle him as much as possible.

LOL...

Wow, has winter dropped my egg production!! I expected some loss, but I got 4 eggs out of 19 ladies today!! My ducks are laying more than that!! :)

I sthis a RIR??

I'm sure she will make lovely egg layer for you. Is she an RIR? No. Simply put, she's not of the correct type, shape, feather, color and so forth. She's a mixed reddish/gold bird. Again, I hope you enjoy your bird very much. Take care of her.

This is what true Rhode Island Reds look like. It's a pity more people have not had the opportunity to see these magnificent birds, nor own them. Notice how long and oblong (brick shaped) the body of RIR is. This is what makes them so unique in the chicken world.
