if i post pics o my 5 week old ri chicks can u tell if there roos o r hens the man i got them from lid them on there back said thats how to sex them think i have 2 roos bc there really bumping chests and r te ones who come tome first ...

hard to tell just looking at the pic. when mine were that age i could tell the difference by the size of their shanks my roosters had a very noticeable difference in the size of their shanks compared to the hens.

They look good. Im raising my first flock and they are all RIRs except for one, hes a faverolle. They are seventeen weeks old now hoping to start getting eggs soon.

YES, FINALLY!!! I got my first egg from my one Rhode Island Reds! I was so HAPPY! And then go figure, one of my other eggs I collected rolled into it and cracked it!!!!!!!!! Do you think she will lay another tomorrow? Or will it be another few days!?????
