Is my cutie a RIR (first 3 pictures)? He's 1 week old today, and I'm guessing "he" because it's my free chick from Meyer Hatchery. I got 2 free chicks. One is supposed to be male and the other female. The other (last picture) I think is a buckeye and probably the female, based on what was in stock last Monday on hatch/ship day.

Just curious is this one is actually a RIR. Thanks!

I never had (seen) a RIR with those white caps. I did have Isla (profile pic) but she turned out to be NHR- but still no white caps.

Thank you to you both! I'll wait and see what it grows up to look like. It's a cute little thing no matter what!

Looks like a Rainbow.
Tan wing feathers, white chest, different colored head.
I've never seen those, other than what I believe are meat birds, rainbow rangers, that RK was selling a while back.

I can see the similarities in some of the pictures. I didn't know that Swedish Flower Hen chicks came in so many different colors.

I'm now actually wondering which of the 2 chicks pictured in this post is my male and which is my female. Fortunately, I don't really care either way outside of my own curiosity.
