These are three days old and hatched from pale brown eggs. I am guessing they are rhode island reds but what do you all think?
If they are to young to tell what else could they be besides rhode island reds?

The eggs came from a random person at the feed store. The person gave the eggs to my friend who then gave them to me. So no way to call up the person and ask what kind of chicken laid them since i do not know the person.

Well, it will be interesting to see how they grow. Yes, I'd say RIR, being that they are dark, if they are as dark as the photo shows. The various crosses and hybrids are often more golden and some striping. The little touch of horn color on their beaks is a good sign. Enjoy them. You may have gotten a real, honest to goodness find there. Happy Thanksgiving.

Nice chicks by the way!

Here they are at almost 3 weeks old.
Some of them have white down on their wings.
