Finally, collected the last eggs to make a dozen. These need to go by the end of the week or they go in the frying pan.

The purebred lovely brown egg laying Rhode Island White eggs I got from you 21 days ago are hatching all nine that were sent went into the hatcher I have chicks and many pips today.
This is only the second time I have had shipped eggs be 100 per cent fertile.
Wish I had a camera, the chicks are darling and I did not know but think its neat that if you cross a RIR with a RIW you get a probly spelling it wrong an ASA Brown that is suppost to be able to lay over 300 eggs a year! Well thanks again Grandpa for some lovely babies.

They may be White Rhode Islands but they do not have a rose combs, Those have a single comb.

This Bantam Rosecomb has a "Rosecomb":

In the APA book I am finding. Both the rose and single comb RIW.

Exactly...That is just like Brown leghorns....you can get single comb or rose comb...just because they have a different comb doesn't make them a different breed. I'm sticking with my guns..these birds are RIW.

I would LOVE some eggs! Won't have room until the end of the month though. Would you have some around the first?
I've seen a lot of RIR, RIW and White Rocks. These most definately adhere to a RIW type. And your birds look happy and healthy!
