Rhode Island Whites Sexes?

The Rhode Island Whites I've seen look exactly the same minus the color leakage. Could these be whites mixed with reds? They are more white the pics are making them look tannish. They are a lot whiter in person.

These are also not Rhode Island Whites. The RIW is indeed quite rare, must have the Rhode Island Red's type, brick shaped body and must be Rose Combed. A single combed bird is not a RIW no matter what people claim. The Reds come in both varieties. There is no accepted breed of RIW with single comb, sorry.

The original birds shown in post #1 are very likely sex link males.

I thought that Rhode Island Whites, like Wyandottes, sometimes had single-combs. While these single-combed (many hatchery-quality birds are like this) Rhode Island Whites are not correct, and can't be shown, they are still known as RIWs. It is true that they technically aren't proper RIWs, but the genetics are probably the same or similar. Of course, this is just my opinion, I am not a RIW breeder.

I agree, though, that BlackAce's birds are definitely not purebred, show-quality Rhode Island Whites. They're body type isn't quite correct, and of course, they have single-combs. Looks to me like a White Plymouth Rock was crossed in.

A true RIW has a RC not a SC. Hatcheries have added so much White Rock into their lines that they all come out SC instead of RC.

The bird below is a true RC Rhode Island White.

This pullet does not show well but you can at least tell she is a RC not a SC

Her off spring at 3 months old look like this...

Now these are some good RC Rhode Island Whites.
