Ribh's D'Coopage

I'm doing a crazy mix this year. Last two years I've had a problem with late blight. Never had it before moving to TN. So this year I did a lot of research and asked seed providers to ID hybrids that are blight resistant. I prefer heritage seeds, but according to my local extension office, we have a really tough strain of blight here that they just can't handle. So I will be measuring everything this year to determine which seeds do the best.

I ended up with mold on top of all my starts this year, but the plants seem to be doing well. This is my first time using "All" Burpee. I used their seed starting kit and their seeds. My preferred seed provider did too good a job educating me. It would appear they don't have seeds tolerant for the particular strain of blight that I'm dealing with. Or at least very few choices.

When I lived in VA I planted mid April and had some tomatoes by 4th of July. And then an abundance of them through as late as January. One year even February. Here my plants die in August because of the blight.
This is our 1st year with the shade cloth up. I suspect the plants aren't getting quite enough light & I have a lot of leaf litter accumulating on the roof that I can't move. I may try the hose because I should be able to keep a garden going all year round here.

Okay, so I am all in with integration... just went ahead and left the little door open all day and tonight.. so we’ll see how it goes. It went very well today!
Here are some pic of the BG’s... and the middles in their secret hideout .. mama and babies.. and the flowers out in a little makeshift yard...
