:frow Waving. To Bob too...:frow I suspect I've gone over the top of his post. Things are just a tad insane round here @ the moment. Hope you've had a lovely relaxing time of.
Don't tell me, while the house was in a state of disrepair your men decided that a room could be used for storing crabs.:D

With @BY Bob & @MaryJanet acquiring new girls recently I've been quiet about my own plans because such beautiful girls deserve an opportunity to shine. I am, however a little upset. Put out. Mildly devastated.

I was planning a buy going into autumn. I like having my new girls come into lay during winter. I like getting them as our weather gets a little cooler rather than battling summer heat. I like getting some eggs while everyone else is taking a break.

So I have been waiting. I waited till I got back from mum's. Then I rang my usual supplier. Where I got my Campines. She hasn't bred this season. No gold Campines!

There aren't a huge number of breeders round this area to start with & most people are into production reds of various sorts, mostly ISA Browns. I've had ISAs ~ not a 1st choice for me, or even a 2nd, 3rd, 4th... So I have been emailing round...So far I can't get Campines of any description. That's the devastating part. I love these birds. I can get silver laced Wyandottes ~ a breed & colour I've wanted since day one. One place will have them available in 4 weeks ~ my earliest time frame. As the majority of my flock is big girls that should not be a problem. I think I can get Araucanas...And I have one more place to try ~ who just do not want to talk to me ~ that may, just may, be able to supply silver Campines. As silvers were always my 1st choice this is a no brainer if they have them.

That would be 6 new birds to integrate ~ & still leaves Lottie on her own. I was so hoping to get her a running mate. I can get lavender Lanshan bantams ~ very pretty but I know nothing about them. There are the usual Sussex, Australorps, ISAs, Barnvelders but I do like my birds a little odd & am keeping in mind when Campines become available I want to have room for them. I am stressing. I am dealing with new people & not able to get the birds I had my heart set on ~ which I should know not to do. I could wait, of course...
