Ribh's D'Coopage

Went out to feed the chickens/chooks and alpacas and returned to find Christofur has taken over my spot on the couch. Happy Caturday!

These 2 are still very much babies & finding the adjustment to the big coop hard.
It's only seeing them with the big girls you realise just how young they still are.
China is @ least roosting ~ but she peeps forlornly @ me when I do my last check after everyone's roosting. She is on her own.
I did try putting India with her for a couple of nights but despite the chest bumping & bravado India is very much a baby still.

The first night she climbed in with the Japs. Four in a box was a very tight fit.
The last few nights she has snuggled up with Alpia. Alpia is a gentle soul & fairly accommodating.
They are still not wandering far from the coop on their own & I have to sneak food to them well hidden from the others.
It's hard, poor little souls, but they couldn't be left with the small birds who are getting along beautifully together.

They will work their way in. These transitions are always so hard to watch. :hugs :hugs

Yes, I know, Bob ~ & I know it could also be so much worse. My girls aren't even being really mean, just ostracizing them, but I'm not set up for the long slow integrations I prefer & they couldn't be left with the littles. The littles should have a much easier time of it. It will be weeks before they join the tribe but of course everyone knows they're there. Most days I have to physically carry India & China down to the lawn where they can socialise with the Littles & enjoy the grass unharrassed. The big girls prefer to be under the fruit trees dustbathing & snoozing. 😄
