Rice brand

Has anyone ever use rice brand as feed for chickens? I'm not talking about using it as their only feed but as a treat for more protein

I've never even seen it in any store. Rice bran has just 8% protein but over 50% fat. I'm not sure it's such a great "treat". Why not toss out a hand full of rolled oats? I give that as a treat and the chickens love it, and it's also highly nutritious. Cheap, too.

The rice brand we buy has 18% protein in it. We feed it to the deer. Hunting season is almost over and just thinking about giving it to the chickens mixed with water. I did read online that it's good for laying hens and most chicken feed already has it in it. Thanks for any info.
