I studied how to raise meal worms for my girls and do not have money for a few to start them and no time to wait months for a bag of flower to go mealy.....so I found a flower container that has a bag of rice that has gone bad. Question is, what kind of bug is it and can I raise them for my chickens?

I really don't see why not. I've seen posts on this forum aboit people leaving meat out in the heat to rot so they can have the maggots to feed their birds (yuck). You can get a small container of meal worms at any pet store that sells reptiles for pretty darn cheap though (vs buying them in large quantities over the net and paying for shipping and whatnot). :)
