Marian needed to be in charge, and that's what she was going to do. She pulled back the reins, and deepened her seat.

Dancer snorted and slid to a stop then reared slightly off the ground testing the girl

Marian sat firm in the saddle, her seat barely budging as the mare reared.

Dancer snorted loudly and tucked her head waiting to go again.

Marian held the reins taut, giving no slack.
