ridiculiously stupid question...

Blue Swedish are beautiful, and I would consider them a medium sized duck. The are not known to be the most prolific layers, but I am told they do okay. They have a reputation for being a good all-around duck.

I have Rouen/Pekin mixes, 5 of them. They are very messy and totally worth it.The females are very loud. The males whisper, you can hardly hear them.Mine sleep in the coop with the chickens. They had their own place, but 3 days in there and they moved in with the chickens on their own.

little water monsters! but yes VERY cute and the best laying bird in my flock is my runner hen, they wont scratch up your flower beds and they are MURDER on slugs! but i hear they are a super pain to pluck if your thinking meat.

Thank you so much for posting this question! I am new to fowl in general and would love to have a couple ducks too because I think they're adorable! Unfortunately I don't think they would work for us since we have a swimming pool and I don't really feel like sharing with the birds! Any thoughts on this?

Duck eggs are delicious. They are much better for baking because they are much richer than chicken eggs. Ducks, depending on the breed, are seasonal layers. I have Ancona and Golden Welsh Harlequins and love them.

I agree with all the posts here. ducks are amazing - great characters and really happy creatures to have around. they are very cute, they talk to each other all the time and are fab the way they waddle!! But - they are very messy. In water they make everything filthy and throw it around a lot. Their poo is very messy and quite projectile. They root and so make small holes everywhere.
I have Khaki campbells and they lay everyday, they are more reliable than any chickens I have. the eggs are lovely and in demand here - I could sell twice the amount I get. they are great in baking but also to eat - my husband and daughter swear by them.
I hope your eggs hatch and you enjoy your ducks, good luck!
