Right now I would...... UPDATE!!

Try adding a light on a timer, my girls have doubled their egg production since I did so. It comes on in the morning at 4AM, which gives them about 2 1/2 more hours of light.

So you're saying the chickens are NOT receptive to a stern talking to?

I would like the answer to this question as well!! My girls are 6 1/2 months old, and I have gotten a whopping 3 eggs from them!! ARGH!!

And now I am only getting one egg a day, from the new cochin ladies that were added last week, and not from my 6 1/2 month olds. And since my mom has taken all her girls home (YAY!) we are no longer getting fresh eggs, save one egg from the Cochins....

ARGH!!

I use the feed from my local feedstore, not sure what brand, but it is in pelleted form. They eat it fine, but I don't like it. Seems like the bag runs dry faster than crumbles. Mash lasts even longer it seems, but the girls had a hard time eating the mash. The feed store where I normally get my crumbles was closed until yesterday. They had closed down to remodel or something. I am wondering if I switch back to the crumbles, maybe I will get eggs? They were on the crumbles when I got 3 eggs before.

Nope!!! They just turn their backs and look up, like "HUH!. I'd like to kick'em in the you know what if that would give me an egg.

I switched to the pellets so there wouldn't be much waste. I sure pray that this feed works. Check on the label about the Lysine content and if its not listed, I was told to stop using that feed.

I heard a rukus outside and I looked out the window to see my daughter running

through the yard and hollaring.

She got in the house and to the office before I could even get to the doorway.

She said "MOM! WE GOT AN EGG!!!!" I instantly smiled and thought "And it not wooden either" Hurray

So, it could have been the feed. I am now going to keep purchasing the Layena by Purina.

Sheesh if that were the case my roosters wouldn't crow and my hens wouldn't have a fit trying to lay in ONE nesting box at the same time. That noise alone is loud enough to wake the dead!!! Like nails on a chalk board
