All six of the girls have now laid an egg this week. All healthy, firm shelled eggs. LOL, only one figured out what the nest was for.

Yay!! I'm very jealous. I also have 6 chickens but no eggs yet. How old are your girls?

They were about 2 day old when we got them and when added to the 19.7 weeks we've had them, it was exactly 20 weeks.
They are Rhode Island Reds.

Mine are 15 weeks, I know I still have to wait but it's so hard! I think the Rhode Island reds are very pretty birds

The tell with mine that they were ready, was that they squatted all the way to the floor when I petted them and they put their wings out somewhat - being very docile. Before that, most of them wouldn't let me pet their backs and were skittish.

Lol yeah my girls aren't doing any squats yet
