Rigid Foam Insulation Board being devoured by my chickens

I had my first set if chicks in a room which is part of an outbuilding. There were oversized holes in the walls for water pipes.
Like a good and considerate new chicken owner, I used Great Stuff foam insulation in a can to fill/block that space so that no snake could get in and dine on the chicks.
As soon as they got old enough to escape their brooder box, they started to eat the foam.
I had to find alternatives for blocking the cracks.

Additionally, when they were adults and put in the back yard, they found the insulation around the air conditioner refrigerant lines irresistible.
