Wild type Ringencks- Versicolor, Zarundy, Bianchi, Kirghiz, Chinese, Formosan, etc, etc ALL breed true (if pure).
Domestic Ringnecks- Blacks, Buff, White, Jumbo, Blackneck, Alaskan Snow, Common Chinese will breed true if they are not crossed with an other color.
Domestic Green ringnecks, used to be called Green Mutants, will breed true but they tend to have a wide variance in coloration. Alot of Greens are results from crossings with Blacks or Common Chinese Ringnecks.
Platinum Ringencks will produce both Platinum and Bluebacks.
Any of the Pied Ringnecks- Green, Buff, Chinese, Blue will produce both Pied and solid birds.
Blue & Silver Ringnecks- It is my theory that they will produce true once there is enough birds and genetic diversity that they do not need to be out crossed to other colors. We have already seen this in Blues- a Blue male bred with a Blue hen will produce 100% Blue chicks. The Silver Ringenck was produced from Blues, With only a hand full of Silver Ringnecks in existence there needs to be more outcrossing to strenghten the line. I can also see that Blues will eventually be divided into their own seperate colors- like Solid Blue, and Patterned Blues as there is a distinct variance among them.
Chocolate Ringecks are a color we bred. They are the result of crossing Blue Ringneck males on Black hens- which produced Chocolates. Being that they carried the Blue gene, our 2nd generation Chocolate Ringnecks produced both Chocolate and Blue Ringnecks. I have seen several people trying to pass birds off as Chocolates, which were not.
Red Buff and Buff Isabels will breed true, but there are alot of them that carry other hidden color genes so they will produce other colors.
White Jumbo Ringnecks- will produce some birds that are pure white and some birds that have a little speckling, about like an Alaskan Snow.
I am no expert- this is just my observation from raising them.
