Ringed Teal don't lay until 2nd yr or at least both my prs never did and they will trio. Lead hen will mate and start brooding her eggs and in about 2 or weeks later the drake will breed the other hen

We have 1 male and 2 female ringed teal ducks and have had them for a year and they still have yet to lay one egg! They are for sale but nobody knows what they are, and dont want to pay what I am asking (very cheap). We have tried everything to get them to lay and nothing has happened.

Like some others have said, they usually breed quite easily if their basic requirements have been taken care of. What sort of things did you try to get them to breed? I raise quite a few every year and mine prefer to nest in elevated nest boxes (in wood duck style boxes only a bit smaller).

Our ring teal breed like rabbits.. but that is in our new pen.. when they were in an 10x24 with other ducks.. nothing..
