I did have a coop for my pheasants but they wouldn't use it. I put some branches in their pen. At the beginning of this thread is a good picture of a pen and nest area. They need quite a lot of room. My pheasants had their own coop and covered pen. I don't think it is a good idea to put them with chickens. Maybe some people do but I'm not sure. I didn't. I would suggest that maybe you can check into a hunt club in your area. There is a fellow in my area that raises Pheasants for the local hunt club and maybe you could get some birds that way. I fed my pheasants Game Bird starter as chicks and Game Bird pellets when they got a little older. Good luck and have fun. Check out the 1st post. There is a lot of good information with lots of pictures. There are a few posts of my birds too.

1) No due to diseases and such.
2) Depends on how many and age. I would feel comfortable with 20+ birds in my 20x50 flight pen.
3) I give layer feed and cracked corn in morning during laying season and winter. High protein feed w/ cracked corn during molt for feather repair. Scratch grains every evening.
4) dunno where you're from but my best advice is to always look local. Ringnecks are high stress birds and moving them is hard on them. I've got a few birds like that left in my flock I'd sell ya if you're close.

I agree with most of your answers, but they should be fed a gamebird feed year round adding layer pellets in the spring for the breeding season, and add corn for the winter months taking out the layer pellets.
Gary Simpson in Norwich,N.Y. has ringnecks. If you need his contact info let me know and I will pm you it.

Pheasants need a gamebird feed because it contains meds against blackhead which pheasants are susceptible to.Same goes for peafowl and turkeys.
