The problem is the greeters (like myself) who frequent the New Member Introductions section don't have pheasants and, as a result, don't know anything about pheasants. If you were asking about chickens, the others and myself could give you lots of answers. Just be patient and wait for the replies to come from the pheasant section. Otherwise, you will probably have to google the answers to your pheasant questions.)

I would collects the eggs and put them under a broody chicken to hatch. Then the chicks will be tamer too.

If you want to breed them naturally you will need about 8 hens to one cock. They start breed in Feb. Feed game bird pellets. Provide lots of cover (your Christmas trees).. and cover ground with straw. Good luck.

You may want to contact birdman55 - who frequently posts on "on this rambling thread we post random photos" He raises some gorgeous pheasants, and I am sure has some great knowledge to share.

If you have 24 hrs light on them they MAY lay early but there is nothing wrong with that. Just make sure you collect the eggs before they freeze or they will crack. Winter and pheasants are a hard mix. If you worry about pheasants watering system in the winter you can use heated waterers or if you are tight with money change it as needed. The heat lamp thing may work just watch how your electrical is wired.

Pheasants normally drop there eggs where ever and will not sit on them. You could use an incubator or a chicken hen that sits on eggs. We get customers that do that once in a while. Normally depending on where you live pheasants usually lay in late March to early April in natural light.

If you have anymore questions I will be happy to help!!
