I get my ringnecks sunday! Cant wait! And yea, $10 for a ringneck chick is way too much! I am paying $10 a chick for red goldens!!! getting the ringnecks for $2 each and melanistic for $5 each

Where are you getting melanistic for $5 ?!?? I want in on that action. Reeves are $10 to $15 each here, I got my ring necks for $1 each in bulk, and another different line of ring necks I got in trade.

WOW! Thanks! That's so kind of you. My friend wants to take a trip to Spokane in a few weeks, I told her I'd split the fuel but the ride home may be a bit stinky! LOL. I told her won't make the birds ride outside.

edited to add: I wonder if they have silvers or swinhoe... I'm going to get in trouble with my SO!

:) Sure thing........ I am not sure what all they have

Im gonna try some goldens soon i got quail due to hatch tommorow but right after they hatch and i got room in the incubator i might try some pheasants.

I wont try and incubate pheasants til mine start laying just so i am not broke if they dont hatch ahaha

Good plan! :) I'm not buying any more shipped eggs this year, if I need new blood or varieties it will have to wait until next spring. (Unless someone wants to give me scaled, valley or mountain quail eggs, haha like that will happen!) I'm just going to focus on incubating everything my birds lay for the rest of this season.

Week 2 and ringneck chicks have some breast feathers, primaries, secondaries and some feathers coming in on their backs. I would not call them fully feathered, but I'd guess they could be within another 2 weeks. I have started turning off 1/2 the brooder lights during the day, and not seeing any piling. They are also cleanong out the feeders 4 times a day. Need a bigger feeder!

Valley are pretty much done for the season from what ive seen, the hens are laying but most are infertile. I have no clue as far as Mountains and Scaled, but they are both expensive and hard to find. I have 1 pair of scaled, and havent found hardly any since I bought them, same with my mountain, but if you do find them, they will probably will have a hefty price!

Where did you get your ringnecks?
