Ringneck X Melanistic...what can I expect?

I believe I will get a percentage of ringneck and a percentage of melanistic chicks but I'm not sure what the ratio is? Will the melanistic chicks be 'true' melanistic or will they be 'dull' colors?

It all depends on how pure the melanistic birds are to begin with. If they carry two dominant melanistic genes and you breed them to ringnecks, you'll get all melanistic and no ringneck. If the melanistics carry only one melanistic gene, you will get ringnecks, melanistics and a percentage of birds that show various traits from both birds. This site http://kippenjungle.nl/Overzicht.htm#kalkoencalculator has a good genetic calculator for various birds and can come in handy. Not entirely accurate, but still useful.
