Rinsing Fermented Feed

Actually you do or should drink the brine from sauerkraut. Now let me say that if it’s a high quality non pasteurized sauerkraut. Sauerkraut shots are loaded with probiotics. Very popular here in California at the Farmers markets, they also sell them at Whole Foods and other organic grocery stores.

What grains/seeds are you fermenting?
I was fermenting Scratch and Peck. Right now I’m trying out fermenting with EM1. It ferments with just enough liquids that absorb into the grains so there won’t be any liquids to drain off (or not). I’m excited to see how it turns out and if my hens like it. It’s supposed to be very good for them.

I add just enough water that it's almost all absorbed with minimal liquid remaining also. It works just fine and is the better way to preserve all the goodies imo.
I believe it's fine to ferment this way. After all kimchi etc... isn't fermented in a mass of liquid.
I do enough for 3 days. The first lot they get is only 24hrs fermented. The last lot is 72.
Regardless of which is best or not......it works for me.
