My most beautiful favorite Cochin bantam has been a free meal to a predator...We think it may have been a hawk seen last week in the area. Only sign was a couple of piles of blue feathers in the brush behind the coop. Aww the joys of freerange...

Bluebell will be sadly missed...

I would be heartbroken if my bantam cochin was gone. They are my fav!

so sorry for your loss!

but I gotta say that picture is amazing.

The chicken behind the fence looks like it's glowing! It's an Angel-chicken!

It seems like our favorites are always the first to go

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. That is too bad.....I free range a lot of my birds also, and I am always afraid This Will Be The Day. But, they love to free range so much, it is so hard to keep them locked up.
RIP Bluebell.

I'm so sorry about Bluebell, I free range and it worries me. I know if the Pudster is out there they are safe, but if the cat's not there I worry.
