RIP Ginger.

If you do mind me asking what happened to Ginger? such a beautiful flock.

Ginger suffered from a persistent shell gland infection that antibiotics could not get under control. She then was diagnosed with egg yolk peritonitis by our vet. Her condition was not going to improve so she was euthanized. It was an extremely difficult thing to do.

This video was from the evening before. It was the last time out in the yard before the next morning when she was put down.

My heart breaks for you.. People that don't have pets will never understand how heart breaking it is to watch one suffer and then lose them. Unfortunately I've lost many pets through the years - but I just know they had long wonderful lives when they were here and they brought me and my family so much pleasure and love. Will be thinking of you and wishing you peace.

It amazes me how well they can look and be so sick, God’s protection so they survive in the wild. So true what you said @CrystaBub knowing they had such a good life and how much we loved them helps when we lose them them. I lost one of my Muscovy females to EYP and it broke my heart not being able to help her. I miss her just like any of the other pets we have had over the years.
