RIP Laddie----Very sad-----Going to have to put a horse down

Oh, Ed - I'm really, really sorry to hear the update...both because of your mother-in-law and Laddie. Greg must be overwhelmed. I'm glad the vet's coming out he/she will help you guys make the right decision for Laddie.

I'll be thinking about you guys today.

My heart is with you... years ago we had to put our best horse down... we tried everything but nothing helped.. we never had another horse like her and probably never wll... prayers for gregs mother and family... and lots of hugs to you both....

The vet was here and she thought it was best to have Laddie put down. He was in so much pain. I was able to get him up and walk him out of the barn. We got him to the spot beside the barn that he liked to stand at, the sun was shining and felt real good, the wind wasnt blowing, I gave him a loooong hug, kissed him and talked to him and told him how much I loved him, how much I was going to miss him, how much he meant to me and then I went back in the barn and let the vet do what she needed. While I was in the barn, I cryed like a baby til I threw up and then I got myself together and started to do the feeding to keep my mind off of Laddie. What a sad, sad day for us all. Thanks to you all for all the kinds words, thoguths and prayers, it meant alot to us. Thanks again..............ed

I am saddend by the callousness of some of the fourm members here. You may have your opinions, everyone is entitled to their own. But when the sole intent of the post is to blatently bash someone who is doing what he/she thinks is best for their pet (in this case giving the horse one last chance to recover) you need to keep those opinions to yourself. The point of these forums is not to hurt one another, but to help, and I am sorry that certian people have lost touch with that mission within their own self righteousness.
