Sorry for your loss! I got a coon last night with just a green apple in the trap. 1089 havahart cage was $45 from homedepot,but I saw them for $41 at amazon with no tax and free shipping today.
I put zip ties on the one door end and so far so good. I have gotten a few coons,possums,groundhogs,and squirrels.

Well, managed to trap the cat last night after my husband decided to put a bit of wet cat food in the trap. Archie just can't help himself when it comes to that wet food. lol He seemed to be sufficiently traumatized so I'm hoping he stays out of it tonight when we break out the sardine can.

ALSO: I arrive home after work at 3am and guess what I saw running down the middle of the street? A SKUNK. I tried to run it over but it darted into the storm drain. Dang!

But now we might be dealing with that, as well.
