RIP little eggs

I don't think it is the turner. I am wondering if when eggs are collected they are left sitting. Mail usually goes out of most PO's once a day unless the PO is a big distribution. Sitting 24 hours waiting can't be good. Hatching eggs need to be turned too. I have lost enough shipped eggs that I am hard pressed for reasons.

I have had the scallopped aircells in shipped eggs, but that never seemed to really make much difference. As long as they are still attached and on the proper end, they should be fine. Hard to say what happens with shipped eggs sometimes, though.

I had a doz. blue/black orp eggs from Gordie and lost all of them too. They were under a broody hen. A few started developing and looked like they stopped around day 5. Like you I have no idea what happen.

Ah the egg killer loves to know I am not alone but I still think the worse is when they make it to full growth and ya get nothing -

the good part is no matter how bad a hatch you have after you blow your nose think I haven't killed as many as Shari there is hope !!

Still nothing from the eggs-of course now the temp. and humidity have been holding steady for the past two days. Why couldn't they have done that all along?!

Yeah been there too with incubating eggs and all of a sudden all of them died for no reason at all. Quirky eggs aren't they?

Miss Prissy, dont give up incubating eggs however with the extra expense, at least you can order Black Orps chicks from Gordie....all of mine are healthy and kicking and eating like a horse. I only ordered ten chicks and they all made it pretty good! Didnt lose any either!

Sounds like Orp eggs are somewhat more fragile to hatch out than other breeds. I had a very terrible time hatching Hamburg Bantam eggs and kept going about five doz and only got one darn chick out of the lot. So I ended up buying four Hamburg Bantam pairs from the reknown breeder in Washington. Worth every penny! They were pretty eye candy!

Even the Spitzhaubens are hard to hatch too but I was very fortunate getting a good hatch with CarlaOK's eggs.

So folks, dont just give up, keep trying. All of us have done it a time or two!
