So sorry for your loss. It appears to be a fox to me. Now and then a bobcat will come out during the day. If you have a camera, put it up because it probably has been lurking looking for an opportunity and it will be back. Good luck...

I've had a pair of bobcats show up on my security cameras this week, but i thought they were nocturnal predators.

Rick was in a bachelor pad by himself that sat right on the edge of my field.

I'm really sorry for your loss. We have a fondness for naked necks, and yours was a real beauty. We have bobcats often during the day. Between them and hawks, we can't free-range any longer.
