RIR 13 week pullet... Right???

Gyspy Rose has had a reddish comb and wattles since 5 weeks of age. However, the comb and wattles have stayed pretty small. I'm assuming she is a pullet, but I want to make sure. I've noticed her tail isn't that long either. Gyspy Rose is a super skiddish, but also at the top of the flock.

She looks like a pullet but it looks like she's growing in saddle feathers!

I say she's a pullet. You'd see a whole lot more comb and wattle development on a cockerel. She's a cutie!

My 8.5 week old RIR has had kind of a larger comb and redder face than my other pullets. Her tail always sticks up much higher than the other 2 as well. I think it must be the breed or something. Her comb isn't really developing at a rate that makes me think roo, and yours would be much more developed at 13 weeks. I'd say safe to say she is a pretty girl.

I should be getting some yummy eggs then in about 2 months or so! I'll let you know if she ends up crowing as a very slow developing male.lol

I do think it's a pullet though. The tail feathers and red comb made me wonder a bit that this could be a roo.

Nothing really says roo to me. Your chicken looks like all my pullets and nothing too much like my roo. But as they say, time will tell. Good luck.
