I too am waiting.. somewhat impatiently .. for eggs..
I have several Orpingtons.. a buff.. a couple blues and a black.. that I know are pullets.. that are 24 weeks old.. actually probably closer to 25/26 since they were hatched at the end of December. Still nothing.
I have some BLRW the same age.. one is a rooster for sure.. so no eggs expected from him...lol.. but the other 3 have no excuses.
I have 2 RIR and 2 Red "star" (think that is hatchery speak for Sex-link) that supposedly lay earlier than most.. they are 20 weeks old and still nothing...
I have two delaware pullets.. not sure when Delawares should be expected to lay.. but they too are 20 weeks old.. still nothing.
I have on Speckled Sussex young hen that was laying when I bought her.. nothing..
With the heat and the broody hens.. my egg production has gone way down.. I figure when all these girls finally decide to lay.. I will be swimming in eggs
But until then.. I go out each morning.. looking for any new signs that someone might be thinking of laying an egg soon. Combs are pinking up nicely..and a couple are nice and red.. I also have a talk about the reason we got chickens in the first place... they just cluck and walk away!!
