RIR Breed Thread

I have a Mixed Egg laying flock of 9 Hens. It started last year around April when my Uncle gave me 2 RIR pullets that were 4 weeks old. Well I built a coop for them and that's when the chicken math began. I now have a total of 9 Hens/Pullets Some aren't laying right but right at point of lay. I was wondering if its something with RIR that makes them more aggressive towards other breeds. Like I said I have a mixed flock from the RIR to BLRW, Black Copper Marans, Australorps, EE's and Barred Rocks. The one RIR which I believe to be the Alpha Hen likes to pick on the other chickens rump feathers. My other RIR and one of my EE is bare bottomed due to the feather picking. While watching them I will watch her chase the other chickens around and pick feathers off of them. Sometimes she will even mount them and peck their necks. I have tried using bluekote with no avail. I am thinking about giving her away or culling her since she is terrorizing my other hens. Is there a reason or way to try and fix this behavior. I thought this would be the right place to ask this since she is a RIR and I have heard from farmer that RIR tend to be more aggressive then other breeds. I forgot to mention the coop is 7x9 with plenty of room for 9 chickens and the run area is about 20x20.

I have a question I hatched out a Columbian chick from a RIR rooster and hen how did that happen?

Can anyone tell me if my little Lois Griffin is a pullet or roo?
Thanks in advance! :)

I love the pic of the little child and chicken. Looks like they're having a conversation in their own little world.

Oh no! Shes taking pics again!

Roger. Would love some feedback from you long time breeders on my 4 rir. I got them from a breeder out west. These were the only 4 that hatched (2 roos and 2 hens). I am looking to replace my hatchery birds and just breed heritage rir. These tater tots are 4 months old now. You cant see it but they do have the red striping down the front of their legs and the tops of their feet and toes. The boys are rosecomb, the girls straightcomb. Will the boys tolerate each other in the same coop if they have grown up together? I do plan on getting more eggs in the spring so that I have a good foundation with a couple of blood lines. While the tots dont like to be handles all that much, they do love hanging out with me wherever I am outside.

I am seeing mostly darkish brown RIR hens in the pics here...My RIR lead hen is a vibrant red color. (Thus named Fiona...) Here she is, but I have to say that in the sunlight her color is so stunning! And she is a GREAT lead hen, smarter by far than my other girls, checks out new situations, lays an egg 9/10 days, and firm but reasonable in dolling out discipline! She is even watchful of my Cochin's new chicks...

On the far left, you could guess...
