OK, that's a straight comb--in your original photos, it looked almost pea comb-ish. Still a tricky one to sex--I'm going to say pullet, based on that teeny tiny comb, though. My RIR had pretty large, pink combs by the time they started getting real feathers. Good luck! I still think you should contact that seller and get your money back, though.

Despite this ones colours when it was a chick, it's now a fully grown laying hen that looks an awful lot like an rir to me. Maybe there is some cross in there for the colour variation as a chick but it doesn't show now. Just thought I'd let you all know how it turned out.

Appreciate you posting picture of your fully grown RIR. I like to know the ending especially happy ending. Mine is only 5 weeks and I am still on the fence regarding its sex.
