RIR good for meat, good for capon?

My local TSC has quite a few RIR straight-run chicks. I usually go there after they have marked them down and since I wanted to start caponizing, I wondered if anyone believes an RIR would make a good capon.

I raise CXs for my customers, I just wanted to re-introduce capons to my area. Plus I like the idea that I can keep my meat on the land for as long as possible.

I'm also going to start caponizing my roosters. RIR would make decent capons if you get them from a breeder. Hatchery RIR's are egg laying machines but they are skinny egg layers. I am going to caponize my rir cockerels but I wouldn't pick it as a breed for the purpose of raising capons.
