This is our beloved bumblebee 2.0…. Yes 2.0 because the original bumblebee passed away at just a few days old. My 4.5 year old claimed her as his and had to replace her. 😬 Well… now my husband is convinced she is a roo and I’m pretty sure we’re going to break my sons heart because if so we can not keep bumblebee. What do you think?! 9-10ish weeks old so I know still very young but I’m holding out hope for my son lol

Yeah I'm with you-better kids learn about death with chickens than their best friend dog. If their first experience with death is the family dog it will be more brutal than if they learn about if with chickens first. At least that's what I'm banking on lol

100% my husband hunts and my son has helped him process venison so they’re no stranger to death with animals etc. But I still will feel bad if we have to get rid of the one chicken he’s bonded with lol literally he tells everyone bumblebee is his BFF lol

Fairly certain pullet on this one. I'd expect a bright red comb by this age if you had a roo.
That’s what I thought too what throws me a bit is the way it walks very Roo like very regal almost. Also has very thick large feet. And the tail feathers are definitely different than our other ones But this is also the only RIR we have so I don’t have another to compare it to.
