Oh and thank you for the responses and welcome! We got 2 black austrolorp hens about 6 months ago (our first ever chickens) and have enjoyed them so much! One went broody on us very soon after starting to lay and so we bought some fertile eggs for her to hatch and got 3 chicks. One unfortunately was sickly and died quickly after hatching and the other was eaten by a snake at 2 weeks old BUT on the bright side we got one healthy chick to enjoy! So curious as to whether it is a hen or roo. I have no experience before this so I was really thinking it was another hen but now I'm excited to see soany guesses that it's a roo! We would be happy either way
